Terms of use
Flooring Local iPhone app · Last updated October 3, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Flooring Local iPhone app and its online service (the "app"). By accepting them in the app, or by using the app, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
1. Who can use the app
You must be at least the age of majority in your province or territory, or use the app with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian. You are responsible for activity on your account.
2. Your account
You sign in with your email address and a one-time code we email to you. Keep access to your email secure: anyone who can read it can sign in to your account. Tell us right away at hello@flooringlocal.ca if you think someone else has used your account. You can delete your account at any time in Account → Delete account.
3. Credits and purchases
- Each visualization (one style applied to one photo) uses one credit.
- New accounts receive 3 free credits, once per person and once per device. We may decline free credits where we detect repeated or automated sign-ups.
- Credit packs (10, 50 and 250 credits) are one-time purchases made through Apple's App Store. They are not a subscription and do not renew. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you buy.
- Credits don't expire while your account is open. They have no cash value, can't be transferred or exchanged, and are forfeited if you delete your account.
- If a visualization fails, or you cancel it before it finishes, its credit is returned to your balance automatically.
- All payments are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds a purchase, the credits from that purchase are removed from your balance.
- We may change credit pack sizes and prices for future purchases. Changes never affect credits you already have.
4. Your photos
You keep ownership of the photos you upload and of the images the app creates from them. You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process and display them, and to send them to our service providers, only to provide the app to you (and, if you attach one to a quote request, to share it with the local expert handling your request). Only upload photos you have the right to use. Don't upload photos of people, personal documents, or anything unlawful, offensive or infringing.
5. About AI-generated images
Visualizations are created automatically by artificial intelligence. They are illustrations to help you imagine a change, not exact representations of any product, colour, texture, pattern, measurement, price or result. They may contain inaccuracies or alter details of your photo. Colours vary between screens, lighting and product batches. Always look at real samples in your home and get professional advice before you buy or start work.
6. Guides
Our guides, prices and recommendations are general information for Canadian homeowners. They are not professional, engineering, legal or financial advice for your specific home, and prices vary by location, product and job.
7. Quotes and local experts
When you request a quote, we pass your request to an independent local flooring expert who may contact you to arrange a measure and a written estimate. Experts are independent businesses, not employees or agents of Flooring Local. Any agreement for products or work is made directly between you and the expert. Flooring Local does not provide any guarantee or warranty for products or workmanship: product warranties are provided by manufacturers, and workmanship warranties by your installer, as confirmed in your written estimate.
8. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the app. That includes trying to access other people's accounts or data, interfering with or overloading the service, reverse-engineering it except where the law allows, using automated means to access it, creating accounts to collect free credits, reselling the service, or using it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
9. Third-party services
The app relies on services from Apple Inc., Google LLC and Cloudflare, Inc. Your use of the App Store is also governed by Apple's terms. We are not responsible for third-party services outside the app.
10. Changes and availability
We may update, improve or discontinue features, and the app may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and we will tell you in the app about significant changes before they apply to you.
11. Disclaimer
To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Flooring Local is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for decisions or purchases you make based on visualizations or guides. Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for credits in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your province or territory.
13. Ending your use
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we stop offering the app; if we stop offering it for reasons other than a breach, we will give you reasonable notice.
14. Apple
These terms are between you and Flooring Local, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for any claims relating to it (including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims). If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price of the app (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, except where these terms say otherwise.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Canada, without limiting any rights you have under the laws of your province or territory of residence.
